5th Annual Cask As Canvas Auction

Barrels on Parade for Charity

Truckee River Winery is hosting its 5th annual Cask As Canvas public art event. Retired barrels are given to volunteer local artists to be re-created into works of art that you, the public can own. All proceeds from these artistic barrels go to a charity of the artist's choosing.

The artists spend hours upon hours creating abstract, watercolor, vibrant and fun works of art and then each artist unveils their work throught out September and October at Truckee River Winery. The unveiling is open to the public and the artists are encouraged to bring other works for display and sale during their event. It is a great evening of art, wine, food and bocce! At the unveiling, people can begin to bid on the barrel, set up an account on Bidding Owl and receive notifications of bids!

The public gets a chance to vote for their favorite barrel as well. Voting for People's choice will begin on October 11th, after the final artist unveils their barrel, and continue until October 16th, which is also the last day for bidding and our auction!

October 16th is Truckee River Winery's 7/27 year anniversary and we will have all barrels on display for viewing, voting and bidding. People are able to bid in person or on bidding owl and it will be monitored through out the day to ensure correct and accurate bids. The anniversary party will be at the tasting room on Sunday October 16th from 4:00p until 8:00p. Bidding and voting will end promptly at 8:00p and the winners and final donations will be announced.

All proceeds from the barrels go to a local charity of the artist’s choosing!
