Stand up to Stigma - Let's talk mental health!

Supporting Mental Health and Addiction Care at Kingston Health Sciences Centre through the University Kingston Hospitals Foundation

Across the globe, there is an undeniable stigma around mental illness and those that suffer from it. Even in this day and age, people can still be uncomfortable discussing the realities of mental illness within our communities and, in many cases, within our families. We are desperately trying to promote awareness and provide education to end the stigma.

The Mental Health and Addiction Care program at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) is hoping to boost awareness in May 2022 by holding a campaign featuring activities over the course of a week to promote ending the stigma around these issues.  Some of these activities include lunch and learns, speaker presentations, community presence and an assortment of wellness activities to encourage everyone to look at their own mental health and well-being.  The goal will be to have all people look at themselves and recognize that many of us have experienced some form of mental illness or addiction in our lives – depression, anxiety, smoking, gambling and so many more.

All proceeds from this auction will help to support this campaign!  Check out all of amazing items generously donated by local merchants, bid and win!
