Save Mount Vernon Academy Now!

A Charity Auction Event

Mount Vernon Academy Needs Your Help More Than Ever!

The kids are asking us to #DOSomething before the deadline!

Here is something we can do! Donate items to sell for an online auction!

It's simple! No need to deliver the item. All you have to do is submit a photo, description and suggest a price! Then if it sells, we'll let you know where to send it.

The money will go directly to the Save MVA fund!

Clean out your attic or garage and help save Mount Vernon Academy!

Make sure to come on over to the auction site during the auction and buy something you need, or maybe get next year's Christmas shopping done in advance. If you see something a friend may need, send them over to the auction!

We need to raise $1.5 Million by February 10, and another $1.5 Million by March 10.  There is no doubt that God has the money.

Why We Want to Save MVA

  1. Our students are asking us to!
  2. Our children and youth are a mission field we have neglected far too long!
  3. We're counseled to have more schools! There is no doubt that He wants to see more of our children and youth educated in our schools. Ellen White said: "In all our churches there should be schools..." (Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students, 168)

In light of that, how can we sit by and let school number 178 close?

We have the technology to connect the academy to all of our youth.

It's time to stop closing our schools and get behind them as church members!

They close because we don't support them. It's time we change that!

It starts today with Mount Vernon Academy.

Let's change things for the better!

Hear what some students are saying:

Student Sierra Winston speaks to the mission of our schools: “...MVA holds something much more deeply than any other school could possibly offer. A pure, genuine, spiritual opportunity that prepares you to take on life with confidence and courage...”

Student Justin Valles said: “Mount Vernon Academy has educated me in a way that I'm convinced no other place can. I couldn't go on to explain the experiences that made this school the home it is to me today because I wouldn't be able to stop. It hurts to see staff and students lose hope in the future of my school. I'm constantly reminded by individuals that thinking realistically is realizing that MVA has no future. More importantly, I'm constantly reminded by God that he is beyond all of us and He is the only being with knowledge of the outcome of our school.”

Student Taylor Scalzo said: “ ...You may be tired of fighting, I’m not. This battle has just begun. I can tell you that I will not give up on MVA until I am dragged off of campus on my hands and feet, or of course if Jesus decides to return. Mount Vernon Academy is my family, and family does not give up family.”

Now tell me, how many schools do you know where the students say it's a family? Most high school students I've known can't wait till graduation day so they can get away!

And I couldn't state this better than the students themselves:

“...This school is truly vital not only to the students and staff at MVA but also to the community of Mount Vernon and the future generation of leaders in our denomination.” Sierra Winston

and:

“This generation’s youth are the next leaders of our church. To face the facts, we are losing a lot of young people in our church today because not all of them have the opportunity to attend a school like Mount Vernon Academy.” Taylor Scalzo

And Justin Valles reminds us to #dosomething: “Don't disrespect all that He is by saying there is no way to save the school that He has blessed so many people with. Believing what is easy to believe which in this case, is the closing of Mount Vernon Academy, isn't difficult. But neither is prayer. Just do something.”
