Hillcrest Children and Family Center is a jewel in the Nation’s Capital. Over 202 years ago, this non-profit organization was created to fill a need to provide quality care and services for disadvantaged youth. This year marks Hillcrest Center’s second annual on-line auction. Our goal is to raise $2000 to help support our juvenile justice and mental wellness program called It’s a WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan). This initiative is designed to build on peer reinforcement. It’s A WRAP empowers each youth that participates to be trained as Certified Peer Specialists. The youth conduct recovery support engagements with other identified youth affected by foster care, legal issues, truancy and substance use disorder.

The It’s A WRAP youth currently speak at various core service agencies with their peers. They are advocates for mental health. The peers work with both middle and high school students that have chronic issues with attendance. Your support will help Hillcrest serve more youth in the District.
