Rémy Amezcua was born and raised in Mexico City. He moved to New York City in 1990 to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography with a double major in Sociology at NYU.



Upon graduating in 1994, he was honored with the Creative Excellence Award for his senior graduation show, where he presented his first installation City Walk/Nature Walk, a freestanding eye-shaped photo sculpture comprised of 52 boxes spiraling out from the center.



Rémy has exhibited in 53 shows, including 12 solo exhibitions. Remy has shown in New York, Mexico City, Seattle, Beijing, San Francisco, La Paz and Rome.



For the past 9 years, Rémy has been developing a multimedia installation entitled "A Group Show Of Selves." It is a platform that permits him to explore different mediums and forms of expression within a single space. He has shown several versions of this installation, including in New York, Beijing, Newark and San Francisco.



Remy has taught photography at different times in his life, offering workshops in different photo related themes. Rémy currently lives in Brooklyn where he keeps on expanding his practice.
