Elk River Arts & Lectures

Gala Faculty Reading Silent Auction

Elk River Arts & Lectures is a nonprofit organization that cultivates and celebrates Livingston's literary heritage by bringing internationally acclaimed authors to interact with students, artists and the public through classroom experiences and public lectures, and more.

This auction is part of our Elk River Writer's Workshop, in which students from all over the country spend a weekend studying with world-class authors. The auction takes place during the workshop's concluding Gala Faculty Reading, which showcases our instructors and their work in an event that is open to the public via ticket sales. Proceeds from the event will go to support our programs.

In addition to readings by Rick Bass, J. Drew Lanham, Beth Piatote, William Pitt Root, and Pamela Uschuk, Gala festivities will include hearty appetizers, live music by Montana Rose, and a cash bar.

Online pre-bidding on auction items will be available until 10 am on the morning of the Gala on Thursday, August 19. The highest Internet bid for each item will serve as the starting point for the silent auction.

Tickets for the event are available here, and at the door.
