We are a private group of Ithacans who want to embrace the refugee families arriving in Ithaca this coming year.  We have been raising funds by selling red, white, and blue-beaded safety pins as a communal rejection of bigotry and discrimination. 

PLEASE SUPPORT THESE FAMILIES BY BIDDING GENEROUSLY ON THIS COMMUNITY-SUPPORTED AUCTION. 

100% of the collected money will go to Catholic Charities of Tompkins and Tioga County who will use it to support these families directly.  We chose Catholic Charities because they have received a grant to support these families and have the infrastructure to do so.

Here is their message:  “Thank you for your support of Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga's Immigrant Services Program.  In 2017, our Refugee Resettlement project plans to welcome 10 to 12 refugee families from violence-torn countries from around the world.  May this pin always be a symbol of your solidarity and compassion for them and for everyone.  Money will supply grocery gift cards, trac phones with minutes, interpreter costs, etc.”
