As summer winds down, and fall approaches, the COBALT 2016 Class is excited to unveil its service project, Season to Bid: A Fundraiser for Civil Legal Aid. Our goal is simple: to raise as much as $20,000 to benefit the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado, the funding source for Colorado Legal Services (Colorado’s largest provider of civil legal aid). And, thanks to the kindness and generosity of our amazing donors—Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, LIVE NATION, AEG Live Rocky Mountains, and the Colorado Mammoth—we’ve made this a win for the Foundation AND a win for you! 

HOW YOU CAN HELP RAISE MONEY

To meet our goal, we’re holding an ongoing online auction of tickets to a wide range of concerts, sporting events, and other shindigs at www.biddingowl.com/cobalt2016 This site includes all the details you need to bid – the event name, number of tickets, event date, venue, and suggested minimum bid. Remember, the money goes to the Legal Aid Foundation, so the higher the bid the better!  Detailed instructions for registering and using Bidding Owl can be found HERE.

Once the auction closes, the lucky winners will be notified by either text or email.  After checking-out on Bidding Owl, you’ll receive the tickets!  (Disclosure: a 5% fee to cover the costs of operating the auction site and merchant processing fees are also automatically deducted from the winning bid.) We’re starting the season now, and ending when we’re out of tickets or on December 31, 2016—whichever comes first!

WHY THE LEGAL AID FOUNDATION OF COLORADO NEEDS YOUR HELP

The Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado raises funds for Colorado Legal Services, our statewide civil legal program, serving Coloradans living at or below 125% of poverty.  The work supported by the Legal Aid Foundation protects victims of domestic abuse, supports veterans in their efforts to obtain basic services, and prevents landlords from illegally evicting families.  Due to very limited funding and an increase in the number of people living in poverty, at least one person in need is turned away for every legal aid client served.  We can help change that!
