The inaugural exhibition of the Baltimore Fashion Renaissance will be hosted by Sharp Dressed Man (223 W Lexington St) as a grand window installation - the first display to illuminate the once awe-inspiring Lexington Street windows.
IN A NUTSHELL: A select group of local Baltimore Artists were commissioned to paint remnants from the former fashion retailer, Rainbow and Current home for the Nonprofit, Sharp Dressed Man. Each artist has self curated unique works that solely express their independent response to the subject of the Baltimore garment district and the city's creative community. Simultaneously, the group has assembled and reclaimed the window display of the historic Lexington Street department store building as the setting of this BFR Exhibition. The sales from this body of work will be divided between the Charity & the Artists. The Art is available for purchase via auction bids starting on the evening of the event until Christmas Day. The winner with the highest bids will receive the ART on Saturday, the 7th of January, 2017.
WHY? The Baltimore Fashion Renaissance is a program created to bring together local Baltimore Creative Talent with the community through Fashion and Art. Sharp Dressed Man's mission and physical commercial space are woven in with creative direction, inspiration and execution of this Exhibition.
