Our Stories: Remembering the Save La Plaza Campaign

Spring Event Auction

The Museum of Social Justice is partnering with Artists Serving Humanity to showcase works by incarcerated artists at our spring fundraiser.  Artists Serving Humanity works with talented artists behind bars that desire to give back to the communities where they have done harm.  Art materials are restricted in prisons, forcing artists to be creative using Bic pens, coffee grounds, and Kool-Aid, as well as more traditional mediums.  Twenty-six pieces from incarcerated artists will be auctioned at our spring fundraiser.  Proceeds from the auction will benefit the museum, Artists Serving Humanity, and the artists themselves, allowing them to purchase more art supplies and continue their work.  It’s a triple win.  By bidding you support two impactful organizations, you support incarcerated artists attempting to turn their lives around, and you get beautiful, meaningful art to display in your home.  Let the bidding begin…

Detailed descriptions of the artists, their works, and their stories, as well as childhood photos have been shared with each item.
