The San Diego History Center is pleased to present an opportunity of a lifetime - a unique, 4-day/3-night stay at the "Futuro House" located in the mountains near Idyllwild, CA.
Called the "Portable Playhouse" by Playhouse Magazine in 1970 - the Futuro was designed by Architect Matti Suuronen. This rare Futuro, which offers all the comforts of home in a spectacular natural setting, has a San Diego past and has been lovingly restored by noted preservation architect, Milford Wayne Donaldson, FAIA.
As part of San Diego's Celebration of Architecture "Archtoberfest," the story of the Futuro was featured in two lectures of Plastic Mobility: THe Challenge of Preserving Modern Materials and Assemblies.
Please note: the Futuro House is located in a natural setting and is not ADA accessible and is nontransferable.
