Welcome to the DYHA Number Auction! 

DYHA will again be running our travel jersey number auction via biddingowl.com. We have created a jersey number system for specific birth years as our teams have mixed birth years. For example, Squirt teams are 2011 and 2012 birth years. Players with even birth years (2012) will be able to select from a set of EVEN jersey numbers and odd birth years (2011) will be able to select from ODD jersey numbers. There are no exceptions to this system. 

Numbers available will range from 1 to 98, 49 numbers for even birth years and 48 numbers for odd birth years. No one is allowed to have the Great One's number... Numbers will be shared across your entire birth year, not just across your team. For example, if your player wants number 8, you are not just competing with the 15 players on your team for that number, but with the 45 or so players in your birth year.

We have reserved numbers 1 and 30 for goalies, otherwise players and goalies are free to bid on any of the numbers. There is no cap on the maximum bid but you will need to check back over the auction period to see if your bid is still alive.  Or, be sure to check your emails from biddingowl.com to see if your bid has been trumped which means you will need to re-bid.  You are only allowed to bid on one number per player at a time.

A minimum bid of $10 is required to secure a number. If you wish to spend only a small amount on a number, check the entirety of the numbers for your birth years for find those that don't have a bid and try to secure it with a $10 bid. At the end of the auction, if your bid has been successful, the bidding site will generate an email alerting you to the number and price.  

After 9pm on the 22th, if your bid has been unsuccessful or you have opted not to bid for a number, you will have until May 24th at noon to select a number remaining from your birth year that has not been bid on.  Email Peter Franchetti at franchetti@gmail.com with your selection which will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  If you do not select a number by May 25th at noon, you will be randomly assigned a number from those numbers remaining.  You will not be charged for this number.  

As a suggestion for you and your player..If you do not wish to pay more than $10 for your number, have your child pick 5-8 or more numbers that would be acceptable to him/her. Start by getting one number from every decile from your player, for example: 8, 18, 28, 38, 48, 58, 68, 78 and of course DOUBLE 8’s, 88!! Start with your initial bid on your first number and continue to check the site. If your initial bid is trumped, move on to the next number that is on your list that has not been bid upon. This way, you should be able to get a number for a price you are comfortable with.

- Please note that 100% of the number auction proceeds will go to the Friends of DYHA which provides assistance for families and players to enjoy this great game.  Please find more information at Friends of DYHA.

- Mite Blue and Mite White as well as House and Midgets are not part of the bidding process.

- Bidding is only allowed for members of DYHA and Ice Cat travel teams.  We reserve the right to delete bids from supporters that are not part of our community and the non qualified travel teams, house players or Ice Cats.

GETTING STARTED

*** IMPORTANT: Please be sure to use your players last name as your bidder display name so we know your bid is from a member of a participating travel team - all unrecognized bids will be deleted.

1) You are welcome to review auction numbers at anytime. You will be directed to register as a bidder or sign in as a bidder the first time you place a bid.

2) To register now, click on Register (top right corner of this page) and follow the short registration process. If you are registering from your mobile phone then click on the menu button and select Register.

3) You will be directed to your email to confirm your registration. Once you have confirmed then sign back in as a bidder and start/continue bidding.

DIRECTIONS FOR NUMBER BIDDING:

1.) Auction begins at 7pm, Thursday May 19th and will end at 9pm, Sunday, May 22nd. 

2.) Go to the [VIEW ITEMS] dropdown menu at the top of this page, choose your players birth year, choose the number your player would like in the correct birth year and place a bid.  

3.) You many only bid on one number per player at a time!

4.) There is a minimum bid of $10 but no maximum bid amount. 

5.) If you are outbid you will receive an email from biddingowl.com, OR check back on the site to see if your bid is still alive. 

6.) Note: Players may not choose a number designated for goalies, #1 or #30.  Please be sure to bid on numbers in your player's birth year!  

7.) Winning bid numbers and non bid assigned numbers will then be affixed to player jerseys.
