The Manatee County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association is excited to be holding our 5th Annual Online Auction!  This year's event is being held in honor of National Adoption Month.  According to recent statistics, there are over 5,000 childre in foster care in the State of Florida that are eligible for adoption.  During National Adoption month, we want to remind the community of the need for loving Foster Families to care for all children in care, as well well as Adoptive Families to be Forever Homes for children who are legally free and eligible for adoption.

While Foster Families receive a monthly stipend to help care for the children placed with them, the cost of caring for the children regularly far exceeds that stipend. With many children entering care with just the clothing on their backs and little to no personal belongings, we strive to help our Association's families provide all that is needed for the children in their care.  We want the children to know that they are loved and have a community of people from our FAPA who are there to support them!

This year, our Auction proceeds will benefit our current Programs and Services for local foster and adoptive families, which include Welcome Bags for Foster Children, Adoption Congratulations Packages, Monthly Trainings, Back to School Bash and Holiday Celebration.  As costs rise for goods and services, our small non-profit has been impacted.  We want to continue to offer these supports and more, but need to raise even more funds than in past years, to do so.  Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to help cover the increased costs of administering our programs over the next year.
