Karmê Chöling is in financial hard times. 

Over the last twelve months, Karmê Chöling has seen a dramatic decline in program registrations. Because of that, we’ve had to cancel more programs than ever and take a loss with many others.

To keep Karmê Chöling afloat since June 2018, we have tightened our belt with considerable expense reductions. Starting this year, we will be going to a seasonal model to reduce staff expense for the period of November through April - Winter Session.

Even with reductions in expenses, to sustain Karmê Chöling - the Jewel of the Shambhala Mandala - through the Winter Session, we need to raise $250,000.

Karmê Chöling remains committed to protecting and perpetuating the Shambhala teachings and precious Buddha Dharma. We do this by remaining a training ground for people to discover their Basic Goodness and practice connecting with it so they can return to society to interact with and inspire others to do the same.

We believe this is how Enlightened Society comes into being. Karmê Chöling also continues to steward our sacred land, buildings, and solitary retreat cabins which have been saturated with the blessings of meditation masters and practitioners from all around the world.

Karmê Chöling has been doing these very things for almost 50 years. In fact, this is where it all began for Shambhala in the modern era. Karmê Chöling is also in the midst of reworking our programming. In addition to our regular training programs and Family & Children programming (like Family Camp), we are working with teachers who are designing programs of more traditional Buddhist topics as well as programs designed to reconnect leaders with a sense of clarity about their purpose and values, and belief that they can affect positive change in the world.
