NEW ITEMS BEING ADDED!
Learning Everyday Accomplishing Dreams (LEAD) is dedicated to providing the tools and resources that low-income/at-risk preteen girls must have to become productive citizens and active leaders in their communities. Using an evidence-based curriculum, LEAD encourages and mentors girls to aspire and achieve greatness academically, emotionally and creatively. We currently serve more than 150 girls in the local area through our partnership with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools at our four program sites: Mineral Springs Middle School, Wiley Magnet Middle School, Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, and at our Community LEAD location, which is open to girls from other Title One Schools, Juvenile Justice Courts, Charter schools and Forsyth County Department of Social Services. This spring, we will expand our outreach to include pilot programs with fourth and fifth grade girls at Cook Literacy Model School and ninth grade girls at Carver High School. You can read more about the organization here: https://www.leadgirls.org/.
Each March, LEAD celebrates the accomplishments of our girls and recognizes the individuals, businesses and community leaders who help make a difference. Our 2021 virtual event features the release of our current year impact, a video from LEAD girls and our community, and The Leading the Way Awards.
At our anniversary, we take the opportunity to celebrate the strong foundation LEAD has and the work we are doing to move forward with strength in the coming new year.
