Learning Everyday Accomplishing Dreams (LEAD) is dedicated to providing the tools and resources that low-income/at-risk preteen girls must have to become productive citizens and active leaders in their communities. Using an evidence-based curriculum, LEAD encourages and mentors girls to aspire and achieve greatness academically, emotionally and creatively. We currently serve more than 150 girls in the local area through our partnership with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools at our four program sites: Mineral Springs Middle School, Wiley Magnet Middle School, Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, and at our Community LEAD location, which is open to girls from other Title One Schools, Juvenile Justice Courts, Charter schools and Forsyth County Department of Social Services. You can read more about the organization here: https://www.leadgirls.org/.
Each March, LEAD celebrates the accomplishments of our girls and recognizes the individuals, businesses and community leaders who help make a difference. The event features the release of our current year impact, presentations from LEAD girls, and The Leading the Way Awards for a school official, individual community supporter and LEAD Girls.
At our anniversary, we take the opportunity to celebrate the foundation upon which LEAD is able to move forward with strength in the coming new year. To inquire about becoming an anniversary/annual sponsor please call Joy Nelson Thomas at (336) 517-6044 or visit our website at www.leadgirls.org.
Please take the opporunity to view our silent auction items! All items are pre-bid only. This means that you may be outbid on the day of the event, even if you have the highest bid via the website. The highest bids on the website will be our starting bids on the day of the event.
