In 2019, the success of the Professional Women Awards Gala & Auction raised funds allowing WWIB to grant $25,000 in educational scholarships and a $7,500 grant to Lydia Place's Heart House.

Thank you to the hundreds of local individuals and businesses who sponsored, donated, and attended the 2019 Gala & Auction!

Please be sure to check out our raffle under the "fund-a-need and more" tab of your auction items. The raffle is Five Fabulous Nights of Dates and includes dinner for two at the Steakhouse and an overnight stay at Silver Reef Casino & Resort, a $200 gift certificate to The Oyster Bar on Chuckanut, a $100 gift certificate to Dirty Dan Harris Steakhouse in Fairhaven, a $150 gift certificate to Mount Baker Theatre, and a couples dance lesson from Dancing For Joy in Bellingham! HISTORY

Established in 1978, and is one of the oldest and most encompassing network/referral sources for business women. It is the mission of WWIB to promote a positive image of professional women in business while developing leadership skills, strength through mutual support, mentoring and opportunities for business and personal growth.

The organization’s main event each year is the WWIB Professional Woman of the Year Banquet held each October. The event has grown in recognition and stature over the years and draws over 300 people who come to honor the communities’ professional women.

MISSION

Whatcom Women in Business is comprised of business owners and managers developing and maintaining proactive role models within the organization and the community at large. Through teaching, learning, leadership and peer support, we strive to exemplify and promote the four areas we honor- leadership, professionalism, mentoring, and community.

The organization supports and promotes education by offering educational scholarships each year to women desiring to further their education.
