More about our Organization:
As COVID-19 continues to impact our households and workplace, Utah Pet Partners is doing everything possible to sustain daily operations and provide services to our community. And with much of the world on paws, our mission never stops. Now, more than ever, our community needs us, and we need you.
Throughout the year Utah Pet Partners (UPP) teams touch the lives of tens of thousands. Our trained animal-handler teams work with professionals in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, shelters, schools, assisted living and memory care centers, juvenile court, and more.
What makes animal-assisted therapy unique is that animals, not humans, do the real work. Our animals have elicited nearly miraculous responses from the clients we serve, but we always make sure the interactions are mutually beneficial for the animals.
Since 1993, UPP has focused on training, mentoring, and supporting animal-handler teams that provide animal-assisted therapy to a variety of clients throughout Utah/ In 2019 our teams served over 56,000 clients, performing over 3,000 volunteer hours statewide.
Presently, we have switched our recruitment, continuing education, and training to online resources available to interested volunteers all over the US, and the world. Other animal-assisted intervention organizations have noticed, and are following in our footsteps to train people to serve in their geographic areas.
As facilities, schools, and businesses open up later this year, people will be needing the comfort and stress-relief provided by our therapy teams more than ever. We are working tirelessly to get new teams trained and ready for the need - bringing comfort, love, hope, and healing, in partnership with exceptional therapy animals.
Thank you for your support!
