Welcome to Emmett Kyoshi's My Paint IV- The Auction. All proceeds from this event will be donated to The Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD), where the goal is to end hunger and its root causes, including racial inequity. Hunger reached historic highs and food bank inventories are at all-time lows. We need to work together and help one another.
2020 has pushed our creativity but we won't allow adversity to get in our way! Since we aren't able to host an in-person gallery event, we're bringing the art to you! Emmett has selected one of his favorites, Mom's Packed Lunch, which will be sold to the highest bidder. Painted on canvas, the 48" x 60" acrylic and charcoal original is signed and finished with a floating black frame.
The GCFD is a member of Feeding America, which includes 200 food banks nationally. From March through October, Feeding America has distributed over 4.2 billion meals- record-breaking. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a 60 percent average increase in food bank users, and 4 in 10 are first-timers. Locally, as Chicago heads into colder weather, that presents distinct hardships and the CGFD needs the help of their supporters more than ever to help our neighbors in need. In its 41-year history, the GCFD has never experienced such a dramatic increase in the number of people needing emergency food assistance.
Emmett was inspired to help and his way of giving back is through his extraordinary talent as a painter. Every cent from this auction will be personally delivered by Emmett to the GCFD. We're confident that this auction will help raise awareness and bring some relief to all those in great need.
Thank you for your support!
