November is Youth Homelessness Awareness Month

Join us on Wear Green Day:  Help raise awareness of this important issue. Wear your End Youth Homelessness tee or other green gear on Friday, November 19th to show your support of our unaccompanied homeless youth. Post your photo/group pic on Facebook with #EYH1649. 

Spread awareness:  Share our FB posts, talk with your friends-family-co-workers, organize a fundraiser &/or collection drive, put out a yard sign, invite us to speak to your group-club-congregation.

Each year approximately 300 Rock County youth experience homelessness on their own. These youth have been rejected, 'kicked out', and/or abandoned by their parent/s; or have left unsafe homes.

*  60% have been physically &/or sexually abused

*  1/3 have spent time in foster care

*  At least 42% of our girls have been trafficked  

These youth are at significantly higher risk of being victimized or exploited, suffering physical and mental health issues, and not completing high school.

 About Project 16:49

Project 16:49 serves Rock County's unaccompanied homeless youth - working to ensure they have access to the services and support they need to complete their high school education and/or increase their self-sufficiency as they transition to independent living. To that end, we provide basic needs assistance, case management and other support. We also operate two transitional living homes for older youth (ages 17-21) that offer truly life-changing opportunities.
