Building a Home for Petal

Petal Lives in Burlington New Jersey

The life-size African elephant with a child on her back was sculpted more than 30 years ago by artist Zenos Frudakis. Petal found her new home in Burlington New Jersey in September 2019.  The effort to save Petal was propelled by overwhelming community support that was evident by thousands coming to see her parade down High Street thanks largely to the Burlington Rotary Club Funds.

After being placed in the Burlington Center Mall in 1982 she lost her home due to many economic factors. She will now be placed on public display once again at the newly renovated Burlington County Historical Children's Museum in the near future when sufficient funds are raised, approximately $200,000 from friends and fans of Petal the sculpted elephant with the boy riding on top.

We are thanking you in advance for your continued, new and lasting support for "Building A Home for Petal".
