I will soon be honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event recognizing outstanding young professionals in the Research Triangle area.

I recently had the privilege of meeting a wonderful family here in the Triangle, the Paige family.  Maddie is a 4 1/2 year old girl with CF.  Her brother, Macklin ("Mack") is 7 1/2, and he is a proud big brother!!  He happens to be the youngest CFF fundraiser!! He led a benefit walk in 2012, called Macklin's Marchers!!

Three weeks after she was born, her parents got the news that her newborn screening was positive for cystic fibrosis.
The family made the video below for a benefit last year.  I'm including it so you can see some her life so far, but also some of the treatment tools she has to use, such as the vest and nebulizer.
