The TrailGators Booster Association is a non-profit organization that was formed as a community volunteer effort to enhance health and wellness in our youth and to encourage children to spend their free time in healthy exercise and play. Since the creation of Gators Bike Park in 2013, our motto has been... "Getting kids off the couch, away from screens, and into the seat." That mission continues to guide everything we do at Gators.
Since the original trail was cut in 2013, the park has grown in popularity, reaching more communities and spuring on additions and expansions. In 2015, we added 8 unique features, rounding out our skills loop. Two years later, Gators Bike Park doubled in size by adding Phase 2- The Flow Trail.
To meet with ever-increasing interest in trail riding at Gators Bike Park, a youth bike team was created in 2017. The Gators Race Team began with 63 riders and within a few short years exploded to over 250 riders led by 29 coaches. The team consists of Pre-K balance bikers all the way up to advanced skilled high schoolers- truly a team like no other.
Our third and final phase will put the finishing touches on the bike park by placing a state-of-the-art modular pump track in Gators Bike Park. DrewsTrak pus trails within easy access to kids and families. The pump track will serve as a memorial to Dave Andrews, a wonderful community member known for his volunteerism, years of youth coaching, and infectious smile.
To help fund this Phase 3 expansion, we will be hosting our annual "Swamp Dash", a youth family mountain bike race with food trucks, prizes and a silent auction. This year's Swamp Dash will take place all day on Saturday 18th, 2021 at Granby Elementary.
