The Collection Managers Committee (CMC) of the Texas Association of Museums is a dynamic alliance chartered in 1988 as an affinity group of the Texas Association of Museums. CMC is open to anyone in the non-profit sector or private sector who performs tasks related to the care and management of museum collections. Texas collections managers, registrars and professionals in related fields come together in the Collection Managers Committee to learn and promote the highest standards in their field, to network together, and to cooperate in creating the highest quality collections care for Texas museums. The environmental monitoring kits on auction were part of an initiative of the CMC to provide members the equipment needed to care for their collections. The funds raised as a result of this auction will go towards redesigning the Environmental Monitoring Kit program with new kits with new equipment.
