Since 2013, September 30 has been observed as Orange Shirt Day, a day to recognize the history and legacies of the residential school system in Canada. Orange Shirt Day originates from the story of residential school survivor Phyllis Webstad, who at six was stripped of her new orange shirt on her first day attending the St. Joseph Mission Residential School near Williams Lake, B.C.

Together with the First Peoples@Seneca Office and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committees at Seneca, there will be many opportunities to support Indigenous communities to come. By supporting Indigenous students financial aid, you will help to ensure that Indigenous students have access to the education, along with support that can help them achieve their dreams and build a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.
