Ferry Queen Fundraiser 2023

An Online Auction by Canoe Island French Camp

Welcome to Canoe Island French Camp’s second-ever online auction! This year, we are continuing our multi-year fundraising campaign for the Ferry Queen’s replacement. The Ferry Queen is our beloved boat that transports campers and visitors to and from Canoe Island. Now over fifty years old, her time with us is coming to an end. We know the CIFC community will always cherish the wonderful memories made aboard the Ferry Queen even as we begin a new chapter with her replacement.

Our next vessel will be built by Munson Boats, an esteemed local boatbuilder based in Burlington, WA. CIFC has paid a deposit of $25K and work is already underway on the project. Though the cost of the boat is unfortunately higher than anticipated due to inflation, we have already fundraised a significant portion of the cost. Thanks to the generosity of our CIFC community, the new vessel will be in use by spring of 2025.

We would like to express our gratitude to the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who donated auction items. Your generosity is inspiring, and we appreciate your support of our cause. We would also like to thank in advance all the CIFC community members who participate in the auction. All proceeds from items will go towards our replacement boat; your contributions will have a lasting and meaningful impact on generations of campers, visitors, and staff for decades to come. Merci beaucoup!

For those who wish to contribute to camp in a different way, we have curated a wish list of items that would greatly enhance our campers' experience. These items can be found under the “Fund-a-Need and More” category in the “View Items” menu. On our list this year are fencing equipment, kayaking gear, ceramics supplies, and 20 mattresses for staff (we have already fundraised enough to purchase 50 for our campers). We hope you will consider making a donation that would allow us to purchase one or more of these items.

When the auction closes on the evening of Sunday February 26th, all winning bidders will be sent an automated email from BiddingOwl inviting them to check out. Simply follow the link within this email to check out using PayPal, or as a guest. Physical items will be mailed to winning bidders and digital certificates will be emailed. Domestic shipping costs are flat rates that are listed for each physical item. Any supplementary international shipping costs will be invoiced to winning bidders.

In accordance with IRS guidelines, winning bidders may claim a charitable contribution deduction for the excess of the price paid for an item over the item's retail value. For items with a retail value listed at "Priceless", the difference between the amount paid and the starting bid is eligible for a charitable contribution deduction. All donations of funds for camp equipment (i.e. mattresses, fencing gear, etc.) are 100% tax deductible.

Lastly, if you wish to make a direct donation to Canoe Island's Ferry Queen replacement fund or one of our other funds, click the "Donate" button below. Thank you for your generous support!

We may limit bidding to supporters that are associated with our organization. We reserve the right to delete bids from supporters that are not part of our community.
