Teaching Everyone Animals Matter (TEAM) is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation formed in 1997 to help improve the health, well-being, and adoption prospects of shelter animals at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter. From the beginning, TEAM has supported the shelter by funding special veterinary care for shelter animals and supporting the volunteers and staff working tirelessly for the animals. TEAM has also made public education about animal issues a top priority, urging the public to “Always spay, always neuter, always ID, always adopt a shelter pet.” This message remains at the heart of TEAM's work.
Since its inception, TEAM has expanded to helping fund new equipment and buildouts for the shelter's veterinary ward, supporting outsourcing of crucial spay and neuter services to get animals into their forever homes when the shelter is inundated, and paying for expert witness fees in animal cruelty cases the District Attorney otherwise could not afford to prosecute. Our Board is made up entirely of volunteer professionals who share a love of animals and use our broad skill set to help as many animals as possible.
This year is especially special for us, as it is our 25th Anniversary! To celebrate the last 25 years of helping our region’s most vulnerable animals, we are hosting an evening celebration of hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine, a silent auction, and will have photos on display of our recent “Dogs and Dancers” themed photoshoot done by local photographer Chris Kisela of CMYK Photography.
Funds raised at this event will help TEAM continue our mission, which includes providing lifesaving and life-changing care for at-risk pets from the Bradshaw Animal Shelter and other local rescue organizations and funding spay and neuter clinics to tackle the pet overpopulation problem head-on.
In 2023 and beyond, TEAM intends to grow its reach into the community by providing community-based spay and neuter clinics serving low-income residents, sponsoring training sessions for new adopters and fosters, communicating education focused on the importance of spay and neuter, responsible pet ownership, and resources and group discussions to our fur parent community.
We rely entirely on community donations to do this work. Your valuable support will directly enable us to save a life.
