The Old Takoma Business Association has commissioned local artists to create imaginative one-of-a-kind Seats, made from re-purposed or recycled materials. They are installed along the sidewalks and in the shops of Old Takoma. To see the map of Seats, click here.

These Seats are being auctioned off for a limited time-- now is your chance to own one and install it in your favorite space! The online auction will run from October 17th to October 31st at noon (12 pm). Winning bidders will coordinate the pickup of their Seat with the OTBA by November 5th.

The reCYCLE Public Art Project is an annual public art project in vibrant and historic Old Takoma from the Takoma Junction in Takoma Park, MD to Takoma to 4th St, NW in Takoma DC. 

Each year, the Old Takoma Business Association commissions artists to create imaginative outdoor sculptures made from a portion of recycled materials which are installed in the neighborhood, creating a self-guided walking tour with the goal of attracting and engaging visitors and showcasing Old Takoma. Sculptures are installed June-October each year and then auctioned off to the public.
