This trout is 5 feet from snout to fin. It is made from repurposed wood. The trout was carved, painted, wax applied, and finished.
Jon Strom is an artist from South Portland. In his words:
"I am a local artist who specializes in repurposed wood and metal fish sculptures. I obtain repurposed wood and draw, cut, gauge, carve, sand, paint, poly, and stain the pieces. My workshop is located in my home in South Portland.
I was born in Connecticut, where I was introduced to fishing with my Dad and brothers. At a young age, my family moved to Vermont where I continued my passion of fishing. Today, I am an avid fisherman who enjoys the local beauty of Maine rivers, lakes, and the ocean. When I am not working or being a dad and husband, I like to spend my time creating these fresh and saltwater fish sculptures, which include wall hangings and benches."
Due to the size of this piece, it will be delivered within Maine. Alternatively, it can be picked up at NRCM's office in Augusta.
