Cole Foust

Description

Cole Foust is an artist that has a great passion for community service, advocacy, and education. During his academic career at the University of South Florida, he developed multiple platforms for people to engage in dialogue about social inequalities, marginalized groups, and public health issues. In 2015, Cole served with a variety of non-profit organizations through AmeriCorps NCCC, focusing on projects related to Urban and Rural Development, Environmental Stewardship and Conservation, and Infrastructure Improvement. Cole now works at Metro Inclusive Health as the LGBTQ+ Division Manager. In his current position, he strengthens programs and services for LGBTQ+ individuals in Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough Counties. As a man who is transgender, he feels strongly about educating the community about LGBTQ+ inclusivity through art, music, and interactive workshops and presentations.

International Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual event occurring on March 31 dedicated to celebrating transgender people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide, as well as a celebration of their contributions to society.

Here in St. Petersburg, we are asking 10 local artists to paint on 3’x5’ polyester trans pride flags. Flags will be displayed at 10 businesses on Central Ave for the month of March. The intention is to create dialogue and visibility around transgender people & their accomplishments. At the end of the month, flags will be auctioned off and proceeds will go towards Transgender Programs offered by Metro Inclusive Health and Trans Support Network (TSN).

All winning bids must be picked up at Metro Inclusive Health by April 15, 2020.
