Description

The Red Sea. 8"Hx16"Wx9"D Translucent resin. The Red Sea is part of a series called "The Waters Edge." The photo above displays four pieces. The ONLY item being auctioned is the pink/red sculpture.

Gina Novendstern is a sculptor whose work has been exhibited internationally in museums and galleries and can be found in both public and private collections. Her sculpture focuses on the human form and uses stone, steel and wood as an environment for bronze or resin figures, or body parts such as a head or leg. In 2008 the Museum of Contemporary Art in Merida, Mexico organized an exhibit of Novendstern's work with twenty -three sculptures and also produced a television documentary about her. In 2010 she was one of the artists chosen to represent the United States in an exhibit organized by the National Gallery of Fine Art in the Dominican Republic. And recently, in 2014, one of Novendstern's sculptures was made a part of the permanent collection at The Peter Gray Museum in Mexico.
