About the Artist:
Gary Stretar is an award-winning painter and a frequent exhibiting artist at Reston's Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival. Most of his career he has painted in watercolors. “The techniques of thin washes, blended backgrounds and diminished brushstroke employed in that medium heavily influenced my painting style in oil.” His paintings primarily focus on iconic rural American scenes. He considers “tonation, color and texture…more important than line value”.
