ABOUT THE ARTIST: Gail Firmin
“Working mostly in watercolors, my artwork shows my love of nature. Hiking in the Rocky Mountains, strolling through gardens, travels to scenic destinations or just the lazy repose of my two cats all provide inspiration for my artwork. I strive for a semblance of realism, while having fun with the properties of different pigments and techniques. Winning my first award for a drawing in middle school, I’ve continued to create art ever since.
Sharing the joy of the creative process has been my goal in volunteering as a mentor for the Developmental Disability Resource Center's Art & Soul program, teaching art classes for disabled adults for the past 13 years. Teaching drawing, pen & ink and watercolor classes for the City of Lakewood has also kept me challenged and busy. I have been a member of the Lakewood Arts Council and Co-op Gallery for over 10 years.”
