ABOUT THE ARTIST: Amy Martin
Amy first started quilting about 15 years ago, after she moved to a little town outside of Denver. There she found a small quilt shop that was fun to explore.. She had always been a crafter, sewer and knitter, so playing with fabrics naturally drew her in.
Quilting is an art that takes large pieces of various fabrics and by cutting them into squares, triangles and other shapes, an amazing mosaic of colors and textures eventually emerge. Amy has been fascinated by the endless amount of patterns, fabrics and techniques to explore.
“Having spent my career in the technical side of corporations, quilting allows me to use my creative side. Most of the fun is picking out the right colors! It is very relaxing. It always amazes me when the finished product is done.”
