Dear Friend of The Shepherd's Center,

Betty has been a Shepherd's Center client since 2015. She calls us whenever she needs a ride to the doctor, and she can recognize our transportation office volunteers by their voices, greeting them before they have time to say their names. Even though she's been a part of our family for a long time, Betty still sends us a note after every ride she takes, and we want to share one that she sent to us recently.

"I was so very thankful to have such a wonderful driver. She picked me up on time and drove me to my appointment, and we even arrived early! She was an excellent driver, and she was very familiar with the area. You are fortunate to have her as a driver. I was glad to have her with me, too. I appreciate having such a kind and special person to drive me."

Your support, contributions, and volunteer efforts made 2021 an incredible year for our seniors. Because of you, we were able during COVID-19 to:

Enroll new clients, bringing our total to over 686
Provide 1,443 rides to critical medical appointments and contactless food and pantry pick-up for older adults in our community
Provide 12 minor home repair visits to help those who are on fixed incomes and living in their own homes
Offer five educational classes in a new online format via zoom in addition to 24 in-person courses this fall.
Provide over low-cost lunches to those attending our luncheon forum
Initiated a friendly caller program for our most isolated seniors.

The accomplishments of The Shepherd's Center wouldn't be possible without your support. From drivers and home repair specialists to office volunteers and the people who cook lunch at Adventures in Learning every week, you show how much you care about our seniors daily.

2021 was an excellent year for us, but our work isn't done yet. A gift to the Shepherd's Center ensures the continuation of these vital services our elderly citizens rely upon, especially in these challenging times.
