surfaces that needed to be covered in a creative
way. I needed to deconstruct the pickaxe form into
its cognitive parts. The form then became a big
wooden frame for paintings that depict possible

Jeff Litchfield studied painting at the University of
Texas at Austin before working in several top
galleries, museums and art-services companies in
New York. His art has been exhibited in major
