“Rock On (Pirates playing air guitar)” is a 10” x 12” framed painting by Caldecott Award-winning author & illustrator David Shannon. This charming image is from the hilarious book "Pirates Don't Change Diapers" by Melinda Long, and features a trio of pirates rocking out!
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
David Shannon grew up in Spokane, WA and graduated with a BFA in illustration from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. In 1983 he moved to New York City and worked as a free-lance editorial illustrator. David’s work appeared in many publications, including Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times, as well as numerous book jackets and posters. In 1988 he began illustrating children’s books and has since written and/or illustrated over 35 picture books, including the bestsellers A Bad Case Of Stripes, Duck On A Bike, Alice The Fairy and the semi-autobiographical, No, David!, which received a Caldecott Honor in 1999. His latest book is Bizzy Mizz Lizzy (Scholastic, Oct. 2017)
Currently, David has been concentrating on a series of expressionistic oil paintings. He lives in Burbank with his wife, Heidi, and their dog, Roy.
Pick Up and Shipping:
Auction winners may pick up their item(s) at the Foundation’s office beginning May 13, 2019 during normal business hours of 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. If necessary, items may be shipped.
2% Processing fee is applied to offset services provided by biddingowl.com, credit card payment processing, and any shipping costs.
If winner does not complete payment for an item(s) by Friday, May 17th, the item(s) will go to the next highest bidder.
All donations for auction items are non-refundable.
