Description

Skateboard Deck

In the artist's own words, "The sun god represents warmth, growth, and plants. The corn represents nature, food, and air. We use corn pollen for praying, so I painted it on a skateboard to remind myself to go forward with our prayers with the corn."

When asked what she would do with the proceeds of the auction, Maria said, "I hope to support the American Indian College Fund. This program helps Native students start and stay in school and they've distributed over 140,000 scholarships since 1989."
