Founder of The Chic Site and author, Rachel Hollis recently hosted a dinner for a group of her favorite authors called, The Blue Stocking's Dinner based on the bookish gals from her favorite regency era novels. Every author at The Blue Stocking's Dinner had just come from a signing to support literacy charities. Did you know that 36 million people in America cannot read well enough to fill out a job application? Or that 493 million women around the world cannot read a book to their child, because they don't know how? So, all of the Blue Stocking's authors chipped in, signed a bunch of books and threw in an amazing gift bag in order to raise as much money as possible to support ProLiteracy.org.
We're hoping that you'll bid. Or tell your friends to bid... maybe you all go in together and then divide up your favorite authors. We hope you'll consider spreading the word with us and maybe getting your own piece of The Bluestocking's Dinner! Imagine what a blessing books have been in your life and how much the ability to read would bless someone else's.
