Kusewera Mission - Empowering and Educating Children Through Creative & Active Play

Help Fund Marissa's October 2014 Philippines Humanitarian Service Trip

This October Marissa is planning a humanitarian trip to the Philippines with the non-profit group Kusewera. She is auctioning off amazing items that her own photography studio has used in iconic editorial shoots from around the world. Help support her effort and bid on these one-of-a-kind items! Help her make a difference and support this amazing cause!

Manila is home to more than 200,000 street kids. There is a growing concern for the 1.7 million children living in impoverished and crowded informal settlements springing up all across Metro Manila. Many of these children, rather than going to school, are taking to the streets to beg, work and play. Kusewera works with the New Faith Family Children’s Home located in Cainta, just outside Manila.  The children at the home come to them for a variety of reasons, but most have been abused, neglected or abandoned. This service trip allows volunteers to work with these kids through our K.E.E.P. daily program clinics, and with Josie’s Angels, a home for teenage girls.  They will also work alongside other volunteers at Tent City and serve a hot meal and medicine to those in need. The last 2 days of the trip, they will get to see another part of the island and trek over to Pagsanjan Falls and other areas in the beautiful Laguna province.
