Goodbye, Bay Bridge

Special Helicopter Flight Auction

On November 14th, 2015 the remaining spans of the Bay Bridge are scheduled for demolition. The Bay Bridge is not only a Bay Area landmark, but a piece of our history.  Its eastern span was infamous for a portion falling in the 1989 earthquake, spurring the design and build of the new span we use today.  For the last (2 years) crews have been working to remove the old span, and next weekend 600 charges will speed the demise of the last sections.

Let’s go watch it blow up.

San Carlos Flight Center has partnered with the Upwind Foundation to host a silent auction for a Special Helicopter Flight to say goodbye to the Bay Bridge.  The top 3 highest bidders will receive the best seats in the San Francisco Bay Area to witness the last moments of the 77 year old Bay Bridge in our Robinson R-44 Helicopter.  The auction will benefit the Upwind Foundation, who provide flight training scholarships to local pilots.  The silent auction will be held online, so you can bid your hard-earned dollars from the comfort of your own home.

Maybe you want to take revenge on the concrete and steel that stole precious minutes and hours from your life in traffic.  Maybe you want to say goodbye to an old friend.  Join us as we say goodbye to the Bay Bridge.

The bidding ends on November 13th at midnight. The bidding starts at $100.00 with $25 increments.
