Community Clay is a non-profit entity created and run by the teachers and participants at the District Clay Center. Our main goal is to be able to reach as many students as we can to experience the wonders of clay! Community Clay partners with the ArtReach program at George Washington University to host a ceramics handbuilding class at TheArch Campus once a week. Giving students an opportunity to have access to clay who wouldn't otherwise be able to do so. 

The Community Clay Program would like to extend the amount of students we reach! To do this we are planning to partner with the public schools right here in DC. We want to connect with the teachers to train and assist them in how to manage a clay studio within the classroom setting and create lesson plans regarding clay and ceramics. 

To reach as many students as possible we need to fund for the curriculum development and the materials to support each classroom and lesson. 

While we hope to have a long-term on campus presence in our partnership with the District of Columbia Public School System, we understand that being in a physical classroom might be on hold due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Our short term plan is to give students an opportunity to work with clay either at home or in the classroom. 

We are fundraising to create a seris of ceramics teaching supports for the art teachers of DC Public Schools and clay kits with tools for students to use at home or in school. This would include creating lesson plans, professional development for teachers, and instructional videos.

 Our goal is to raise at least $5,000! Please consider supporting our Community Clay! program and giving as many students as we can an opportunity to be creative with clay! 

BIDDING WILL BE 2 SESSIONS OF 5 DAYS. THE FIRST SESSION OF ITEMS WILL CLOSE JULT15TH AS THE NEW SESSION STARTS!(There will be one day that all items overlap.)
