Description of Event: Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA) has invited artists to design and decorate one-of-a-kind white canvas backpacks as a fundraiser in honor of local artist Bob Kuperberg’s 90th birthday celebration.

Due to COVID-19 social distancing recommendations, the event will be live streamed on Facebook Live.

All monies will be donated to Food4Kids and Marion Cultural Alliance and are tax deductible.

Food4Kids is a project of Interfaith Emergency Services with the goal of “No Hungry Children”. Food4Kids partners with schools to raise funds and collect food, pack food into backpacks for hungry children, and distribute the backpacks at school on Fridays to provide weekend food for the children the program serves. Backpacks are returned to school on Monday, and the process is repeated.

MCA’s mission is to champion, convene, and create opportunities for artists and arts organizations. MCA supports activities relating to the arts, historical and scientific museums, and specific education through grants, advocacy, fundraising, and partnerships.
