About the Vassar Haiti Project

Every year since its founding in 2001, the Vassar Haiti Project (VHP) has hosted an art sale and auction on campus during Vassar College's Families Weekend. Due to COVID-19, we have moved online this year. All the proceeds from this auction and event series will fund our Education Initiative in Chermaitre, a rural village in northwest Haiti.

In Chermaitre, we partner with local villages and have helped to build an elementary school and a kindergarten-multipurpose building, create a school lunch program, and support a scholarship program for 22 secondary school students to continue their studies. We are currently planning to establish an adult education program as we continue to work towards the goal of sustainable development in Haiti.

To learn more about VHP, our mission, and other initiatives in Haiti (Health, Water & Reforestation, Women’s, Grants, and Art), please visit our website at https://thehaitiproject.org/

If you’d like to donate to us, click on the yellow button below. We kindly appreciate any amount which will all go towards our Education Initiative in Haiti.
