It's been two months since the #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd uprising and the rebellion at the MPD 3rd Precinct up the street from our Minneapolis studio. We're taking this opportunity to give a boost to two great local orgs.
All fundraiser proceeds will be split between Juxtaposition Arts (JXTA) and the SPIRAL Collective.
JXTA is a black-led, teen-staffed art and design center, gallery, retail shop, and artists' studio space in North Minneapolis. Since the uprisings in Minneapolis began, JXTA has played a critical role in building community alternatives to the police, led by Black, POCI, and other youth who are already building the abundant and just future they envision. Donations directly to the #BuildJXTA campaign can be made at https://juxtapositionarts.org.
SPIRAL Collective is a volunteer reproductive justice collective based in the Twin Cities, prioritizing chronically ill / sick / disabled, queer / trans people of color in both leadership and services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, and especially in the wake of the Minneapolis uprising, they've stepped up to provide mutual aid healing support especially to Black, Indigenous and people of color activists and residents impacted by both crises. Donations directly to SPIRAL can be made at https://www.spiralmn.com.
The auction will end on Tuesday, August 11 at 8pm central time. Auction winners can have their items shipped anywhere in the United States, or pick up at our south Minneapolis studio.
