RespiraWorks has an enormous amount of potential to save lives all over the globe, but we need financial support in order to do that. When I say 'enormous', there is no exaggeration. Four of our volunteer engineers are from NASA; our ventilator model was based on ideas from the respiratory engineering work that they did for the SpaceX Dragon that was launched to the International Space Station recently this year. We have a number of volunteers who graduated from Stanford, and the award that we won was third place in the international CoVent Challenge held by Harvard experts which had hundreds of ventilator models competing. The significance of our ventilator design is that it is made from materials that are much cheaper and easily accessible than models currently on the market, so more hospitals all over the world will be able to have access. 

 

There's more. In addition to our ventilator design, we are currently testing our Powered Air Purifying Respirator design in San Francisco, California. We have many other future plans for respiratory equipment designs, we have manufacturing offers, and we have professional expert volunteers from countries all over the world. We just need financial support. 

 

Throughout the pandemic shut-down, we have had over 100 volunteers in many countries, but more and more are having to quit RespiraWorks to go back to work. If we want to accomplish our mission, we are going to need to pay workers to fill in the spots that we cannot find volunteers for. We are receiving tragic news every day that can be prevented if we can just get the funding for production and distribution. We want to save lives. The more support we build, the better the odds are of us climbing the ladder to gain more grant opportunities. Let's keep spreading the name Respira Works all over the world to help distribute as much hospital equipment as possible!
