The Friends of 124 is a philanthropic organization that supports Boy Scout Troop 124. For nearly 50 years Boy Scout Troop 124 has provided an amazing Scouting experience for young men in the Parkville-Carney-Glen Arm area. Rooted in Scouting’s values of character, citizenship, and physical fitness, Boy Scout Troop 124 develops young men who seek to “help other people at all times” and whose strong minds and backs support their families, schools, and community. We have been blessed with strong parent support and adult leadership which has enabled us to thrive and grow to nearly 100 scouts. Our alumni serve in many levels of government, serve in the military, operate small businesses, teach in our schools, and serve as community leaders. We are the only scout troop in the Baltimore Area Council to have an instrumental band made up of unit members. Finally, our camping program is exceptional. In the past decade, we have mounted long term trips to Georgia, Indiana, Wyoming, New York, North Carolina, Maine, and even Canada with high adventure trips to Sea Base in Florida, and Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Our troop’s school buses make mobilization of our many scouts and leaders possible.
