When The National Civil War Museum was proposed, it was imagined as a center for the unbiased presentation of the American Civil War, preserving artifacts and educating the community.
The museum houses an impressive collection of over 35,000 artifacts collected and curated over the last 28 years.
Our chronological exhibits take visitors through the causes of the war, major engagements, political milestones, the culminating events of the war, the Lincoln assassination, and the war's impact on veterans and its legacy.
