Start Lighthouse addresses the literacy crisis with a three-pronged approach to create compelling, rewarding reading experiences for children and families. Specifically, we start by fostering an intergenerational approach to cultivate literacy at home and in school at an early age. Our method includes “Literary Adventures," diverse representation in the books we distribute, and community workshops.To date, we’ve distributed nearly 8,507 brand-new, culturally responsive books. We've impacted 3,268 students and conducted over 300 hours of programming.
