WELCOME

to the 2nd Hastings High School Charity Art Auction hosted by Amnesty International and the National Art Honor Society!

All funds collected during this auction will be donated to CREA, an organization in Nicaragua that promotes literacy and learning.  With community support, CREA helped found a local library with over 3,000 books, computers, and access to the Internet. It has supported after-school homework help for primary school students, tutoring for high school students, and provided books and didactic materials to schools. Through a mobile lending library and visits to schools, services were eventually extended to seven rural communities. In a region where a library didn’t exist previously and this type of extra support was not available, the love of reading, exploration, cultural exchange, and the value of education have begun to take root.  For more information about the organization go to CREA's website.  Thank you for your support!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

On December 14th, this site will be officially open and you will be able to browse images of student artwork and bid on them using a paypal account. In the top left corner of this page click on the green "View Items" button. This contains a dropdown menu containing artwork seperated by category. The auction will be live from December 14th at 8am EST to December 16th at 11:59 pm EST. At that time winners will be notified if they have won any pieces of artwork via email.  If you live within Westchester or greater NYC area, your artwork will be delivered by a student within the next 3 weeks. If you live out of state we will ask that you provide your mailing address, so that we can safely mail your piece. If you do not want to purchase any artwork but are interested in donating you may donate to CREA through this action. Select "Donate" from the  green "View items drop down menu in the top left corner of this page. 

HISTORY

In the Spring of 2021, Amnesty International and NAHS worked together to host the Spring Art Blast, a night of Art and Music to raise money for American Soldiers injured during the Azerbaijan Conflict. Student artists, musicians, and club members raised over 1200 dollars during the course of the night. This year we’d like to keep the tradition alive and celebrate student artwork and collaboration while supporting a cause that we care about!
